Dr. Faris received his undergraduate degree from Clemson University. He graduated with honors from the Medical University of South Carolina, then completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where he received the Resident of the Year award. He continued on at UNC to complete a fellowship in Infectious Diseases. He then served as a Major in the US Army Medical Corps, Fort Benning, Georgia.
Dr. Faris holds board certification through the American Board of Internal Medicine. His special interests include infectious diseases and hypertension. He has served as a clinical investigator for multiple pharmaceutical companies and has authored ten scientific articles published in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Faris and his wife, Tina, have two adult children and five grandchildren. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church. He enjoys reading, daily exercise, traveling, water sports, and Clemson athletics.
