Dr. Fridy received his BA from Wofford College in 1962. He then attended medical school in Charleston, SC at the Medical University of South Carolina, earning his MD in 1966. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Emory University in Atlanta then went on to complete a fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine, also at Emory.
Dr. Fridy is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. His special interests include adult medicine and pulmonary medicine.
He is married, with two adult sons and three grandchildren. He is a member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church. Dr. Fridy has participated in numerous medical missions trips including trips to Zimbabwe, Zambia, Rwanda, Kenya, Haiti, Cuba, and Mexico. He is also involved in the Kairos Prison Ministry. In his free time he enjoys golf, hiking, and traveling.
